Quality Management Systems – Requirements
ISO 9001:2015 contains the requirements for implementing a quality management system. Anyone planning to get ISO 9001 certified needs to buy a copy of this standard and have it available (your auditor may verify this as well). In addition to the requirements for the quality management system, the ISO 9001:2015 standard contains an introduction on the process approach and PDCA cycle, as well as explanations and definitions of the vocabulary used.
Note that the national standards bodies of some countries use a slightly modified title (though the content doesn't differ in any way). For example, ISO 9001:2015 is also known as ASQ/ANSI/ISO 9001:2015 (USA), DIN EN ISO 9001 (Germany), CAN/CSA-ISO 9001:16 (Canada) and BS EN ISO 9001:2015 (UK).
